2. Announcement

a. Information regarding scholarships will be included in the CS & HSBA mailings. The deadline for requesting applications is April 15. Application forms to be returned by May 25.

“The CS&HSBA is pleased to announce the creation of a $1000 annual scholarship.” The scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding high school senior or a student currently enrolled in a Jr. College or four-year college or University.

b. Applications must be requested by April 15 and returned by May 25. The application can be obtained from the secretary of CS &HSBA.

3. Qualifications

a. Involvement with the Suffolk/Hampshire Breed.

* Applicant in breeding programs will be selected over applicants with market lamb projects.

* Applicant must be involved with Suffolk/Hampshire Breed Industry.

* Applicant must be a member or part of a family membership of CS & HSBA.

b. Extra Curricular Activities

* 4-H

* FFA

c. Scholastic Achievement

d. Scholarship to be based on merit, not financial need.

4. Scholarship Committee

a. Scholarship committee to be composed of five Board Members.

b. Scholarship committee will present applicant(s) to the entire Board.

c. No more than five final candidates will be considered.

d. A single candidate may be presented to the Board.

e. Final candidates to be voted on by the entire Board. Simple majority is required.

f. Scholarship cannot be presented again to previous recipient.

g. Board members who are parents of applicants may not vote.

h. Final candidates will be interviewed by the five Board committee members.

i. Final evaluation of candidate:

* 50% Project

* 40% Interview

* 5% Extra Curricular

* 5% Scholastic Ability
